What Is a BCIN Designer?
BCIN stands for Building Code Identification Number. In Ontario, certain designers who prepare drawings for building permit applications must meet qualification and registration requirements established by the province.
BCIN-qualified designers can provide design and permit-drawing services within the categories for which they are qualified.
For many houses and residential renovation projects, this means a qualified designer can develop the architectural design, prepare the required permit drawings, and help coordinate the application without the project necessarily requiring an architect.

When Might I Need an Architect?
